Our design team have recently returned from the annual trip to Belgium. Whilst in Belgium we visited various mills on the search for the latest fabrics and upholsteries for our 2019 collection. The mills supply loads of current high street fashion trends as well as monitoring future trends for the next couple of years.

On the first day of the design trip our team had a very early start and travelled via the Eurostar from St Pancras to Lille in northern France. Our final destination was the beautiful Kortijk in Belgium, famous for it’s incredible medieval architecture.

Over the course of the three day trip we visited a total of seven different mills and saw hundreds of different fabrics. Not only did we get to see these incredible collections of fabrics but we also got the chance to see fabrics being designed and produced from scratch.

Each of the fabrics are also tested in several different ways to make sure that they stand the test of time and will be practical in the long term. One of these tests is called the Martindale Rub Test, this involves fabrics and upholstery being rubbed over 50,000 times! At Regal it has always been highly important to us that we choose high quality fabrics and furnishings so that you can enjoy your holiday home for many years with all the family.

We managed to narrow down the hundreds of fabrics to a few favourites which we are currently using in the design of our 2019 collection. Get ready to see lots of beautiful patterns and colour schemes for the next range, we already cannot wait to share it with you all.
